been reading this article by the present Japanese Prime Minister, very new and only been there since september 2009. He was from a family with strong political background, being called the "kennedy of Japan".
very much in love and passionate about the idea of "fraternity" that he was presenting. the concept of brotherhood. or maybe in a sense, togetherness.
the principle of "self independence". individuals has the right to decide upon their own destiny, and of coures, followed by obligation to take responsibility for the result of their choices. while at the same time, the importance of "coexistence with others" are stressed here. people respect each other's mutual independence and differences while also working to understand each other and seek common groud for cooperative action.
He quoted Author Saneatsu Mushanokoji of his famous words "I am me, you are you, yet we are good friends", which truly expressed this mentality and spirit. respect towards individuality as well as treating this as a very mutual thing, the way of respecting others, and coexisting with others, other individuals, or hopefully even more than that.
well another idea that he's expressed under this concept, was the allocation of responsibility and power. as we all know, under management theory, it's always better to flatten the hirarchy and giving accountability to people so that they are motivated to work towards the best of their abilities. motivation is one thing, another is probably people at local level, or operational level that we could see, know the details better then the central strategic person. people are in their own posts means they are the one who should do the job, with their thinking, experience, skill, not only the hands. i mean here the top level should set a direction, a very strategic one, rather than setting too detailed instructions. on that management leve.
or maybe coz i am falling in this trap right now, so giving it a lot more thoughts then i would normall do .
